About CTG (Colby Theatre Groups)Welcome! You're probably reading this now because you are a fan of live theatre. Because we're all theatre fans and love attending as much theatre as possible, it just makes sense to purchase tickets as a group! Group seats gives us access to the best seats at discounted prices, after season subscribers, but before going on sale to the general public. Discounts typically range 10% to 50%, with reduced ticket, venue, and/or order fees (the last time I purchased single tickets in Sacramento I paid nearly $30 in convenience fees!! OUCH!). Listed prices include all order, ticket, venue, restoration and/or facility fees. Yes, they can really add up!
How does the CTG site work? When a new show becomes available, I'll post on the Facebook site and send an email with basic details, referring everyone here to the site for further information. You'll find everything you need to know about the show, if a deposit is due (many shows require deposits), deposit due date and the date I need to receive final payment. Please remember, "count me in" and "I can't wait" don't secure tickets when the balance is due...I must receive payments by due dates. I've had to cancel shows in the past because people who 'couldn't wait' to see the show didn't make payment or send in deposits. You are welcome, and encouraged, to share the site with friends, family and co-workers. I would love to have our "groups family" expand and be able to offer even more events at discounted prices. Groups require a minimum number of attendees, generally ranging from 10 to 15, depending on the show and venue. We generally don't have plays because as a whole, the group has not been interested, however, there was overwhelming demand for "No Man's Land" when Berkeley Rep hosted that production and our group had the maximum number of tickets available. On the other hand, the incredible play War Horse had zero interest. Groups are not limited to the Bay Area and Sacramento! Let's take a road trip to Los Angeles! Many of the "must see" shows are not making it to our area, but can be seen in Los Angeles. For example: Ghost, The Addams Family and Catch Me If You Can and La Cage tours never made it to our market. 2017 Update: Sadly group interest plummeted in Sacramento to be non existent - so I can no longer offer Sacramento groups. Should interest return, I would love to offer Sacramento groups agin. Be sure to let me know if you're interested in Sacramento theater groups! As always: See you at the theater! Steele |
